What is Pagerly?
Pagerly is an on-call and incident management tool that lives mainly in Slack and Teams. It lets teams build round-robin rotations, sync Slack user groups like @oncall with the current rota, page engineers by email, Slack, SMS, phone call or app, and run incidents with dedicated channels, assigned roles and timelines.
In practice, an engineering team can set up a weekly rotation, let Datadog, AWS or Sentry raise incidents automatically, and then have the on-call engineer receive a call or SMS until someone acknowledges. The tool also adds meeting links, Jira tickets and dashboard links to the incident channel, tracks MTTA and MTTR, and includes status pages, uptime monitoring and task management.
Key features
- Round-robin on-call rotations with overrides and shift swaps
- Slack user group sync for @oncall
- Paging by call, SMS, email and app with escalation policies
- Incident channels with roles, Incident Commander and timelines
- Automatic incident creation from Datadog, AWS, Sentry and 40+ tools
- Status pages, uptime monitoring and tracking of 3,000+ third-party services
Who is it for
- Engineering and DevOps teams running on-call
- SRE and platform teams
- IT operations teams
- Companies migrating from Opsgenie or PagerDuty
Pros and cons
- Works inside Slack and Teams, so incidents are handled where teams already communicate
- Pricing is per team rather than per seat for the base plans
- Paging is an extra cost on top of the base plans
- Opsgenie shuts down in April 2027, so migration is time-limited
