Best AI Presentation Makers in 2026: Gamma, Canva, Copilot and 5 More Compared

For a quick draft from a single prompt, Gamma works best; for a free all-round design tool, Canva; and if you live in PowerPoint, Copilot or Plus AI. I compare 8 tools using their pricing pages as of October 2026.

Piotr Olszewski · updated October 12, 2026

If you need a presentation from one sentence and you have 10 minutes, open Gamma or Presentations.AI. If you want a free plan and a deck that matches the rest of your graphics, go with Canva. If your company already pays for Microsoft 365 and the slides have to end up in PowerPoint, start with Copilot, and add Plus AI if you work across Google Slides and PowerPoint.

I checked pricing pages in October 2026. Dollar and euro prices are kept in the vendor's currency.

Quick picks

  • Best overall: Gamma - the fastest way to turn a prompt or notes into a complete, well-structured presentation you can share with a link.
  • Best free: Canva - a free plan with templates and basic AI features, no card required.
  • Best for PowerPoint users: Copilot in PowerPoint - works right inside the .pptx files you already have.
  • Cheapest paid: Pitch Plus (€10 a month billed annually), Plus AI Basic and SlidesAI Pro (both $10 a month billed annually).
  • For PowerPoint and Google Slides: Plus AI - runs as an add-in in both.

Comparison table

Plus AI $10/mo (billed yearly) no, 7-day trial add-in for PowerPoint and Google Slides

SlidesAI $10/mo (billed yearly) yes, 12 presentations a year text to slides in Google Slides

Gamma

Gamma is the reference point in this category today. You paste notes, an outline or a single sentence and get a complete presentation with layout, images and text. The result is more a "web page in cards" than classic 16:9 slides, which works brilliantly when you share a link and less well when someone needs a .pptx file to keep editing.

Gamma isn't in the directory yet, so there's no card here - but I'm covering it anyway, because a ranking without it wouldn't make sense.

Who it's for: freelancers, marketers, teachers - anyone who makes a lot of presentations that were due yesterday.

Price: Gamma's pricing page blocks automated reading, so I'm not quoting Plus and Pro prices I haven't confirmed. According to the help center, a new account gets 400 starter credits, the Plus plan includes 1,000 credits a month, and the Business plan costs $40 per person per month billed annually (6,000 credits per person). Gamma has monthly and annual plans, and refunds are possible within 3 days if you stay under a credit usage threshold.

Downsides:

  • credits go fast when generating images and reworking whole decks;
  • PowerPoint export can be less faithful than the in-browser view.

Canva

Canva logo
CanvaOnline graphic design platform for creating social posts, presentations, videos, prints and logos, with AI tools, for individuals and teams.

Canva isn't strictly a presentation generator, but it has everything most people need: thousands of templates, Magic Write for text and an image generator. You can build a deck from a template or generate a draft and rework it. A big plus is that you can turn the same materials into a post, poster or short video without switching tools.

Who it's for: small businesses, social media managers, schools.

Price: there's a free plan for everyone, plus Canva Pro and Canva Business. Canva's pricing page blocked automated reading in October 2026, and prices vary by country, so check the pricing page for yours. AI features have caps: per Canva's pricing, Pro includes up to 200 uses of AI Premium tools or 20 uses of AI Ultra tools.

Downsides:

  • the presentation generator is weaker at structuring content than Gamma - it's more an editor with AI than an author;
  • AI limits depend on the "tier" of each tool, which is easy to get lost in;
  • PowerPoint export sometimes breaks fonts.

Microsoft Copilot in PowerPoint

Microsoft Copilot logo
Microsoft CopilotAI chat assistant from Microsoft for creating, brainstorming, learning and solving everyday problems, with a Microsoft 365 Copilot tier for work.

Copilot in PowerPoint creates a presentation from a prompt or a Word document, summarizes long decks and adds slides in the style of your company template. If everything in your company circulates as .pptx, it's the least painful route - nothing needs exporting.

Who it's for: companies on Microsoft 365, corporates, and anyone who has to hand in a PowerPoint file.

Price: per Microsoft's US pricing page, Microsoft 365 Personal costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, Family $12.99 a month or $129.99 a year, and Premium $19.99 a month or $199.99 a year. Personal and Family include Copilot in the apps with usage "higher than free", while Premium offers "extensive usage". Business plans with Microsoft 365 Copilot have separate pricing.

Downsides:

  • design quality depends on the template you already have;
  • on the Family plan, AI features are only for the subscription owner;
  • limits on home plans aren't given as numbers.

Beautiful.ai

Beautiful.ai logo
Beautiful.aiAI presentation software that builds on-brand, auto-aligned slide decks quickly, aimed at individuals and enterprise teams.

Beautiful.ai is built around "smart templates": you move elements around and the slide takes care of spacing, alignment and proportions itself. The prompt generator makes a draft, but the real strength is that it's hard to make an ugly slide here.

Who it's for: people who often present to clients and don't have a designer on hand.

Price: per the pricing page, Pro costs $14.50 a month billed annually or $45 a month with no commitment. Team is $40 per person per month billed annually ($50 monthly). There's a 14-day full-access trial, but it requires a card. There's no free plan.

Downsides:

  • no free plan, and the trial needs a card;
  • rigid templates can get in the way when you want an unusual layout.

Pitch

Pitch logo
PitchAI-assisted collaborative presentation workspace for teams to create, brand, share and track slide decks.

Pitch is a presentation editor for teams: shared templates, a brand library, comments, and links that show who opened the deck and how long they spent on each slide. AI generates a draft from a prompt and helps with copy.

Who it's for: sales and marketing teams, and startups sending decks to investors.

Price: per the pricing page, Free is €0 with 1 seat and 100 one-time AI credits. Plus costs €10 a month billed annually (€12 monthly) and includes 500 AI credits a month. Team is €15 a month billed annually, Business €20 a month billed annually with 750 credits.

Downsides:

  • the 100 AI credits on the free plan don't renew;
  • PowerPoint export without the Pitch logo starts on the Plus plan.

Plus AI

Plus AI logo
Plus AIAI assistant inside PowerPoint and Google Slides that generates, edits and reformats presentations for professionals.

Plus AI works inside PowerPoint and Google Slides, so you don't have to switch tools. It generates presentations from a prompt or a document, reworks existing slides and sticks to your company template. The vendor says the AI works in any language.

Who it's for: consultants, analysts, and anyone who has to deliver a native .pptx file or works in Google Slides.

Price: per the pricing page, Basic costs $10 per person per month billed annually ($15 monthly, 1,500 AI credits), Pro $20 billed annually ($25 monthly, 3,000 credits), Team $30 billed annually ($40 monthly). Every plan starts with a 7-day trial with 1,000 credits, and a card is required.

Downsides:

  • no free plan;
  • the trial requires a card.

Presentations.AI

Presentations.AI logo
Presentations.AITurns a topic, document, or URL into an on-brand, editable PowerPoint deck in minutes, for professionals who present regularly.

Presentations.AI generates presentations from a prompt, exports to PowerPoint, and offers view analytics and password-protected links on Pro.

Who it's for: people who want a simple generator with a free start.

Price: per the pricing page, Starter is free (100 credits a year, up to 20 slides), Pro costs $20 a month billed annually ($240 a year), Gold $50 a month billed annually. The vendor notes that prices are for the US and may differ in other countries.

Downsides:

  • 100 credits a year on the free plan is only a few attempts;
  • prices are only listed for annual billing.

SlidesAI

SlidesAI logo
SlidesAITurns notes, documents, PDFs and prompts into presentations directly in Google Slides, PowerPoint, ChatGPT or the browser.

SlidesAI is a Google Slides add-on that turns pasted text into slides. Simple, no bells and whistles, but it does exactly what it promises.

Who it's for: students, teachers and people working in Google Workspace.

Price: per the pricing page, Basic is free (12 presentations a year, 1,000 characters per presentation), Pro costs $10 a month billed annually ($120), Premium $20.83 a month ($250 a year). Prices exclude tax.

Downsides:

  • the free plan's character limit is enough for a short outline only;
  • it only works in Google Slides.

How to choose

  • Check what format you deliver in. If the client needs .pptx, choose Copilot or Plus AI. If you send a link, Gamma and Pitch are more convenient.
  • Count credits, not just the price. Image generation and reworking whole decks eat through the limit several times faster than text edits.
  • Start with a free plan. Canva, Gamma, Pitch, Presentations.AI and SlidesAI let you try without paying.
  • Test with your real content. Paste your actual outline and see whether the tool keeps your structure and wording.
  • Team = brand templates. If several people make decks, a brand library matters (Pitch, Canva Business, Beautiful.ai Team).
  • Already paying for Microsoft 365? Try Copilot before you buy anything else.

Common mistakes

  • Pasting just a topic instead of an outline. "A presentation about marketing" gets you generic filler. An outline with 5-7 points and numbers gives a much better draft.
  • Not checking the numbers. AI can add statistics that aren't in your sources. Verify every number on a slide.
  • Too much text per slide. Generators love paragraphs. Cut to 3-5 bullet points.
  • Paying for a year for a one-week project. For a one-off need, a monthly plan or a trial beats an annual plan.
  • Forgetting a trial with a card. Beautiful.ai and Plus AI will charge you after the trial if you don't cancel.
  • Unchecked AI images. Generated illustrations can be odd in the details (hands, lettering). Review every slide.

FAQ

What is the best free AI presentation maker?

Canva, Gamma (400 starter credits), Pitch (100 one-time AI credits), Presentations.AI (100 credits a year) and SlidesAI (12 presentations a year) all have free plans. That's enough for one or two decks; with regular use, the limits run out quickly.

Can ChatGPT make a PowerPoint presentation?

ChatGPT writes a good outline and slide content. For a finished, good-looking design, it's easier to paste the ChatGPT outline into Gamma, Canva or Plus AI.

Is Copilot in PowerPoint free?

Not in full. Per Microsoft's pricing page, Copilot in the apps comes with Microsoft 365 Personal (from $9.99 a month), Family and Premium, with different usage limits.

Gamma vs Canva: which is better for presentations?

Gamma is better at structuring content from a prompt and gets you to a finished draft faster. Canva is better when the deck is graphic-heavy or has to match your other brand materials.

Which AI presentation tools export to PowerPoint?

Copilot and Plus AI work natively in PowerPoint. Canva, Gamma, Pitch (without the logo from the Plus plan), Beautiful.ai and Presentations.AI on Pro can also export to .pptx.

Is there an AI that makes Google Slides presentations?

Yes - Plus AI and SlidesAI both work as Google Slides add-ons, and paid Google AI plans bring Gemini into Google's own apps.
