What is Unstructured?
Unstructured is a data preprocessing platform that turns complex, unstructured files into structured, AI-ready data. It connects to sources such as S3, SharePoint, Google Drive, Confluence and Salesforce, then parses each file with a strategy suited to its type (auto, fast, high-res or VLM-based partitioning) and preserves tables, reading order and document hierarchy.
Once parsed, the content can be chunked, enriched with OCR, image and table descriptions or named entities, embedded with a range of embedding models and sent to destinations such as vector databases. Teams use it to build document ingestion for LLM applications, search and analysis of contracts, filings, claims and forms, with deployment options from SaaS to a dedicated VPC.
