What is Nomi?
Nomi is an AI companion app where you chat with a virtual character that develops its own personality over time. The site presents it as a friend, partner, or mentor, with emphasis on emotional intelligence and memory. According to the homepage, a Nomi keeps short, medium, and long term memory of your preferences, habits, and past roleplays, so conversations build on earlier ones.
In practice you start a free chat, pick or shape a Nomi, and talk to it one-on-one or in group chats with several Nomis. The homepage also mentions selfies and roleplay, with users describing fantasy and sci-fi storylines that run for long periods. The product is aimed at people who want an ongoing conversational relationship, whether for companionship, creative play, or everyday emotional support.
