What is Nano Banana 2?
Nano Banana is the image generation and editing feature built into Google's Gemini app. Users type a text prompt describing a subject, setting, style and composition, or upload a photo and ask for changes such as swapping the background, altering the weather, adjusting camera angle or lighting, or adding an element while keeping the details they like.
The tool can also transfer the texture, colour or style of one image onto another, combine several photos, keep a character's appearance consistent across generated images, render readable text for logos, invitations, posters and comics, and resize a single image to different aspect ratios. Images are produced with an invisible SynthID watermark and a visible AI label.
