What is GradGPT?
GradGPT is an AI platform for students applying to US colleges. Its main tool, the College Essay Coach, reviews personal statements and supplementals against rubrics that the company says were written by former admissions officers, and returns a score, section-level feedback, and specific lines to fix. Other tools include a chances calculator that sorts colleges into ambitious, moderate and safe for a given profile, an AI counselor for questions on applications and financial aid, a database of past admitted student profiles, AP practice questions, and a student forum.
In practice, you paste an essay, get a score out of 100 with notes on authenticity, structure and the opener, and can resubmit drafts to track changes. According to the site, the tool gives suggestions and questions rather than writing the essay itself. The Max plan adds unlimited reviews and a library of essays from admitted students for comparison.
