What is JetBrains Air?
JetBrains Air is a system for building software with AI agents. Instead of replacing the agents you already use, it gives you one place to run them. It works with Claude Agent, Codex, Junie, Copilot, OpenCode and any agent that can be connected via ACP. Air detects compatible agents on your machine and lets you connect them with a click, or add new ones from an agent registry.
In practice you can keep several projects open, each with its own agent sessions, and track unread updates, changed files and outgoing commits across them. Agent changes can be reviewed as diffs directly from a session, validated with JetBrains IDE tools, and commented on line by line so the agent can act on the feedback. For teams, shared projects run agent tasks in dedicated cloud environments, and recurring work such as code review, release notes or lint checks can be set up as automations.
